Top 3 favorite covers and illustrations

Over the years of working as a designer and illustrator, I’ve collected a lot of good works for my portfolio, but there are always some that I like the most. So I want to share my top 3 with you.

My first and favorite work. A father of two adorable kids ordered a gift for his wife for Mother’s Day. He wrote “The idea is basically that Jess loves nutella but we (her family) love her more than she loves nutella 😉” and my heart melted at that moment. It was a super cute project that I still love to this day. The illustration style was supposed to resemble chalk and the background was dark to make the family and the inscription stand out more.

The next interesting work is a book about hugs, there are as many as 60 types of them, can you imagine? I’m very happy that I was approached with this project, we worked on the book for several months, made many corrections, and the result was great. More than fifty unique, inimitable and contrasting characters depicted in a flat style and a wonderful gift book for children and not only.

Another work that I am proud of is The Adventures of a Cheese. It was also written for the author’s son and drawn in a different style than the previous two. It contains a lot of characters, reveals a wide range of emotions and depicts a beautiful and unexplored world of adventure. Bright and pleasing to the eye colors and soft textures make the book extremely friendly.

Speaking of illustrations, this Indian Summer is definitely in the top 3 of my favorite works. I absolutely love this work for its calm and delicate color scheme, textures and the sense of peace I feel every time I look at it. The tiny legs and arms are very well combined with the large body, creating a harmonious image. And the foreground, somewhat blurred, allows us to focus more on the main characters.

I love the nosey gnome not only for his funny expression, but also for his patched pants. On the conical hat you can see two types of lighting: cold – from the moon, and warm – from the fire. Also, all proceeds from the sale of postcards with him were donated to help the Ukrainian army. This makes me love him even more.

This wonderful grandmother rounds out the top three. I love this simple and laconic style, the dynamics of the shapes and the thought of what grandmothers will be like when our generation retires.

I hope that you liked my selection, and if you disagree with it, I will be happy to read your list of favorite works. All the best!
